User Data Deletion Instructions

Shoboti respects your fundamental right to digital privacy, personal data erasure ("Right to be Forgotten"), and platform autonomy under the EU GDPR (Article 17), India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 (Section 12), and Meta Platform Terms.

1. Scope of Data Deletion

You can request the permanent removal of your personal information across any of our operational touchpoints:

2. Disconnecting Shoboti via Facebook & Instagram Settings

If you connected your Instagram Business account or Facebook Page to Shoboti, you can revoke access and trigger our automated data deletion callback directly through Meta:

Via Facebook (Web Browser):

  1. Click your profile picture in the top right of Facebook and select Settings & privacy > Settings.
  2. In the left menu, select Business Integrations (or Apps and websites).
  3. Locate Shoboti in the active applications list.
  4. Click Remove and confirm deletion.
  5. Meta will automatically dispatch a secure signed callback to our deletion endpoint to purge synced account tokens.

Via Instagram (Mobile App):

  1. Open your Instagram Profile and tap the Menu (☰) in the top right.
  2. Tap Settings and privacy.
  3. Scroll to Your app and media and tap Website permissions.
  4. Tap Apps and websites.
  5. Under the Active tab, find Shoboti and tap Remove.

3. Direct Email Request to our Data Protection Team

To request full erasure of your shopper profile, shipping details, or interaction logs without using social media settings:

Subject line:Data Deletion Request

Please specify which data you wish erased and include your relevant identifier:

  • For Storefront Shoppers: Your mobile phone number, email address, or recent Order Number (e.g. RC-*****).
  • For Instagram Commenters / DMs: Your Instagram username or handle (e.g. @username).
  • For WhatsApp Inquirers: Your registered WhatsApp mobile phone number with country code.
Response Timelines: Your request will be acknowledged within 24 hours. Verification and permanent database erasure are completed within 48 to 72 hours. You will receive an official confirmation receipt containing your permanent deletion tracking reference.

4. What Happens When You Request Deletion

✓ Permanently Deleted

  • Meta Page Access Tokens and connection secrets.
  • Customer contact records (names, phone numbers, email addresses).
  • Saved physical delivery addresses.
  • Instagram direct message logs and comment histories.
  • Active authentication sessions and cookie tokens.

ℹ Retained Under Statutory Mandates

  • Financial & Tax Ledgers: Under Indian GST regulations, the Income Tax Act, and MCA guidelines, tax invoices and transaction records must be retained for 7 years.
  • Anonymization: In retained financial invoices, all customer personal identifiers (name, personal phone, personal email) are permanently anonymized or masked once the statutory return/chargeback window closes.

5. Data Portability & Export Rights

Under GDPR Article 20 and DPDPA 2023 Section 11, you also have the right to obtain a portable copy of all personal records stored about you in machine-readable JSON format. To request an export, email privacy@shoboti.com with the subject line: Data Export Request.
